Onion River Nordic Ski Club works collaboratively with the City of Montpelier Parks Department and many generous private landowners to construct, maintain, and groom over 25 kilometers of ski trails that are accessible to the Capital Area community. Click on each trail area to find out more.
Access to the North Street Trails is made available through the generosity of private landowners and can be revoked at any time. Your cooperation and respect are necessary to maintain our access to these amazing trails and beautiful landscapes. Dogs are not allowed on any North Street trails. Parking can be found at Morse’s Meadow on County Road, in West Meadow near the intersection of Cumming Road and North Street, and along North Street. Please follow the directions posted on signs.

  • Sherwood Forest: Sherwood Forest includes Harry’s Heaven of the former Morse Farm Ski Touring Center and has been expanded to include additional loops for more skiing options. Typically groomed for both skate and classic skiing. For a backcountry experience, try the Ridge Trail (green blazes).
  • Morse’s Meadow: Formerly and still referred to as Dot’s Meadow, the meadow includes approximately 0.75 km of wide skate lanes, classic tracks, and a great practice hill.
  • West Meadow: Approximately 0.75 km of wide and flat terrain that is perfect for working on your skate technique. Access from Cumming Street parking lot and is connected to Sherwood Forest via the Blue Trail.
